Setting up a GameVox server takes about two minutes. Here’s what to do.
Create your server
After signing up, hit the + button in the server list. Give your server a name, pick a region closest to your members, and you’re live.
The server creation flow walks you through naming, region, and initial setup.
Set up your channels
GameVox starts you with a General text channel and a Lounge voice channel. From there, create whatever you need:
- Text channels for chat, announcements, links, media
- Voice channels for hanging out, gaming, meetings
- Categories to organize channels into groups
Tip: right-click any channel to quickly edit permissions, set slowmode, or configure notifications.
Invite your people
Go to Server Settings > Invites and generate a link. You can set it to expire after a certain time or number of uses, or make it permanent.
Share it anywhere: Discord, Twitter, your website, a QR code on a flyer. Anyone with the link can join.
Configure roles and permissions
Roles control what members can do. The basics:
| Permission | What it does |
|---|---|
Manage Channels | Create, edit, delete channels |
Manage Roles | Assign and configure roles |
Kick Members | Remove members from the server |
Manage Messages | Delete or pin messages |
Create roles in Server Settings > Roles, then assign them to members by right-clicking their name.
The role editor with permissions, color, and hierarchy controls.
